Content Raven – High Speed Low Drag

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

I’m always on the lookout for new technologies that make my life easier and tip the scales of security posture more in my favor.

Recently, I came across Content Raven and found one of those technologies.

Content Raven is a cloud content security solution that protects sensitive content (or any content you wish) from piracy, exposure, hacktivists and plain old negligence.  Content Raven is a high speed, low drag solution that covers all kinds of formats.

From the MS Office Suite and Adobe PDF to video, audio, and DVDs, Content Raven secures information across these formats on multiple platforms. iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, PCs, Mac, laptops, iPads, etc., Content Raven covers them all.

I like the fact that I can send a secure document from my laptop to someone else’s mobile device and now know that it is secure. In fact, the metrics that Content Raven provides based upon the secured content is of great assistance.

Security professionals are always struggle to get usage statistics with security products. Content Raven gives you great metrics and analytics out of the box. I can track by user and/or device and /or location what the user has looked at and for how long. I can expire the view at any time.

The other major factor that makes this high speed and low drag is that it is agentless. No installation and management of ever-changing agents that require deployment. No more loading up on laptops or servers agents that cause problems. No attempt to load an app or agent on a mobile device only to see the battery life shorten by half. Content Raven is truly high speed and low drag.

If you want to view content offline, there is a download app requirement but in most cases, we are always connected somehow. The iPhone App is simple and requires a very small footprint.

Any way you look at it, I can control content behavior when in the recipient’s hands.  Save, forward, print, copy, paste, edit (screen print) are all controlled by the sender.

Content Raven is a private cloud solution recently recognized as one of the Top 10 Finalists for the RSA Innovation Sandbox (RSA Conference 2012 – San Francisco). It was also nominated as a “Start Up to Watch” by Massachusetts High Tech.

I think you should give them a shout –  It can save you data loss headaches with very little lifting. As I said, high speed and low drag!
